Put JESUS First!

As they sat around swapping tales, a rather large person with long hair and wearing what appeared to be an overcoat came along. In a quiet and gentle voice he asked if he could share their campfire (the fact that he recognized this insignificant blaze as a campfire, sort of gave him a stamp of approval).

There appeared to be a presence about him one found hard to explain. But as he started to speak you could feel a love in each word as he told us about a Savior whose name was Jesus and how the Father had sent him with Special words and assignments for each of us. He then asked if we would allow him to pray for us.

As he prayed to the Father one could sense the awesome overcoming power of Love, Joy and Peace.

As he touched us and had a special word for each of us, we felt like we were supermen. As he laid his hands upon my head I could hardly stand, then he told me, "God had his hand upon me and had a special mission for me to accomplish. That I would do things beyond my wildest dreams."

He thanked us for being kind enough to share our campfire and blessed us and took his leave. And as we watched him reach the bottom of the hill he just vanished and we never saw or heard from him again. At least not in that form.

Over the years I've learned to recognize that voice, even at 2:30am. So about four or five years ago, I'm awakened and told to get people to "Put Jesus First".

Well I tried. I became the mad chalker. Any where I found space I scribbled PJF. I even got to share what would happen to their lives as they put Jesus First. I wrote to people and I emailed them. But it was like talking to a wall (at least the wall didn't come up with ten thousand excuses). Finally I just gave up and quit. And now I, for one, can tell you the Lord is not proud of quitters.

I was reminded that if I had just paid attention to what I was trying to tell others about "putting Jesus first" everything would have fallen into place. People would have become more aware that the only way to really lift Jesus up, was to put Jesus first. The more we lifted Jesus up the more our needs were met, the more our needs were met the easier it becomes to put Him first. All the good works, nice words and feel good sermons mean nothing to the Father if his precious son, our Lord and Savior, is not put first and lifted up.

He said reaching my destination wouldn't be easy, but the pain would not be more than I could tolerate and the reward would bring honor and glory to him.

So we published a letter and distributed bumper stickers under His divine guidance. The results were very gratifying, and more have been ordered with our new web page displayed. A PJF CD has been processed along with a re-edited tape to CD format, with both available at no cost to the recipient.

We feel the Spirit leading to not solicit or take up offerings. However, we do strongly solicit your prayers, and may accept contributions as the Spirit leads (see home page for info)! As we trust and "Put Jesus First" all our needs will be met.
